What is Instant Access?

Instant Access is a new way to provide you with the materials you need for class. Your required course materials, including eBooks and courseware, will automatically be delivered to you electronically through your Canvas course portal.

What are the benefits of Instant Access?

You will receive access to your materials on the first day of class without requiring any up-front payment or effort on your part—you are already set up to receive everything you need to be successful in your course. And Instant Access materials are guaranteed to be provided at the lowest possible price.

How do I pay for Instant Access?

Your student account will be charged after registering for an Instant Access course. The charge will be listed as “Instant Access Course Material,” and you can pay for this alongside any tuition or fees you may have for the semester. If you receive financial aid that covers textbooks, it will be applied to Instant Access as well.

How do I view my Instant Access materials?

Once your course begins, you can access your materials through the Instant Access link within your course in Canvas. If you need to view or modify your access prior to the start of class, you can visit your personal Connect Student Portal. A link will automatically be emailed to you after registering for an Instant Access course.

What if I prefer a hardcopy of my book?

Optional print editions of Instant Access textbooks are available in the bookstore. These are intended to supplement the digital materials and are sold at a significant discount.

What if I choose not to participate?

You may opt out through your Connect Student Portal at any time before the displayed deadline. If you choose to opt out, your Instant Access will remain active until the deadline date, but the charge will be removed from your account within 2 business days. If you need to opt back in for any reason, you are free to do so through the end of the deadline date. Please note that the materials are required for your course, and Instant Access should be providing them at the lowest price available. If you choose to opt out of the program, you will be responsible for purchasing the correct access on your own at a higher price.
